Pyrography is the art of using a wood burning tool on watercolor paper. I have been using this technique for over year now and have found the results very rewarding. I stumbled upon it by accident when I wanted to make an art piece for my living room using an existing frame. I only had a wood burning tool, the kind that you can buy at any hobby store. I used some watercolor paper that I had handy, and from there my technique was born.
I started with the cheap wood tool and worked my way up to a better heat controlled wood burning tool with numerous tips that can be changed out. It makes my art have that finer detail that you see in ones like "Steve's bait and tackle". Jessica's dream was done using the cheap tool. She was my second piece but my first actually image since the fist one was mainly words and some flowers and leaves.
